Sommet Saint-Sauveur proudly honours a legend of freestyle skiing in Quebec by renaming one of its iconic runs after Mikaël Kingsbury. Announced on April 18, 2026, during the Mikaël Kingsbury Camp, this tribute highlights the athlete’s outstanding impact on both the sport and the mountain.

The former Stadium and 70 East slopes are now officially known as the Kingsbury Run, a meaningful milestone in the history of freestyle skiing in the Laurentians. This marks a significant moment for the les Sommets group, which had not renamed a run since the Brassard trail at Sommet Olympia.

With a record-breaking career, Mikaël Kingsbury has become a defining figure in freestyle skiing in Canada. Having grown up skiing at Sommet Saint-Sauveur, he continues to inspire the next generation of athletes.

“Mikaël’s impact on freestyle skiing and on our mountain is undeniable. This tribute recognizes achievements that make him a true legend of the sport,” said David Dufour, President and CEO of les Sommets.

This recognition brings together the entire Sommets community, staff, visitors and ski enthusiasts, while reinforcing the region’s commitment to growing freestyle skiing in the Laurentians.

The next champion may already be on the slopes.
