The history of skiing in Quebec begins at Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts, in the Laurentians, where the first North American ski lift was installed.
This resort embodies the family, ambition, innovation and passion that have shaped it. Founded by Jacques G. Hébert in the 1970s, the resort, named Mont Saint-Sauveur, strengthened the link between the village and the mountains. With the arrival of Louis Dufour, a passionate skier, the resort expanded.
In October 2016, the Hébert and Dufour families transformed the company into les Sommets, with five ski resorts, a Water Park and unique activities.
It's with great pride that les Sommets has been holding the prestigious Conversion Cup Challenge since May 2019, after placing among the finalists two years running. Awarded annually by the NSAA (National Ski Area Association), this cup highlights the efforts made by ski resorts in North America to convert neophytes into snow sports enthusiasts.

Each year, SNOW Operating recognizes the best resorts in its partner network with a Platinum Partner distinction. Platinum Partners best exemplify the ideals and execution we look for in our resort partners.
This is reflected in the resort's overall culture, adherence to SNOW Operating philosophies, physical execution of program elements and overall guest experience.
It was a great honour for les Sommets to recognise the 2019 Platinum Partner Resorts of the Year for their exemplary performance and delivery of excellent customer experiences for the previous winter season.
